Dia De Los Muertos

Dia De Los Muertos Brief History
Dia De Los Muertos is an international event where family and friends gather together to remember those who have passed away. Asian countries have similar traditions in which food and beverages are prepared in remembrance of those departed.

In Aztec Mythology, The Aztec God, " Mictecacihuatl" is queen of the underworld and is believed that her and her husband "Mictlantecuhtli" look over the afterlife. According to the Aztec Calendar, tribute was celebrated to the Queen of the Afterlife in the month of August. This celebration evolved into what is now Dia De Los Muertos which is celebrated in Nov.1-2. It's believed that Nov.1 is dedicated to Dia De Los Innocentes (Day of the Innocents) which pays tribute to infants and children. Nov. 2 honors the adults of have passed.

I'm glad to introduce the official Strait Jacket Life Blog. But before I can begin posting, I have to start with a brief introduction. Strait Jacket Life originates from tragedy and triumph. One of the things that these cold streets teaches us is that perseverance and spirit is mandatory. Most would not be capable of coping and adapting to daily life in an asylum. By asylum, we mean these brutal streets that continue to make everyday, that much worth the struggle. We walk around with strait jackets as a badge of honor and as a rites of passage.

We are currently in the progress of launching the Strait Jacket Life LLC. Launching pad is Los Angeles and we hope to share our vision and style to others outside of our asylum.

Thanks for you're support and positive feedback. We will definitely keep you posted on our progress and events.
